3. A flash of light in the dark.
▲“Other people I would assume…” he looked rather unaffected by the sudden flash in the distance, or by the fact that someone was speaking to him in the woods at night,. It wasn’t really his concern. When your species was at the top of the food-chain, even in human form, one did not tend to react strongly to threats.
“Or… maybe aliens… spirits, hunters, really it could be any number of things. Thereal question is… should I care? The answer most likely being: No.”
▲“No intent really, I was simply stating facts.” It seemed strange that one of these creatures would be addressing him at all. Even with his essence repressed to the point it resembled a human there had to be something about his aura that still gave of dangerous vibes… then again… maybe he was just too good at magic.
He had been doing this spell on and off for centuries, he probably came across as a full human now. Which was, all in all, what he was going for. “Whether you’re suspicious of me or not is really of no consequence to me.”
He barely bothered to look up. “I mean, you were afraid of flashlights, I don’t see you as a threat. And that’s all I care about~”
The small girl was slightly irritated now, acting like a little kid, which she was, at least as her species saw her. “Well,” Pine began as she felt her cheeks redden with anger. “I am no threat, of course, but what I fear today is not to be judged by petty humans who sparked these fears..!”
Who did this guy think he was? Merely insulting her just because she hadn’t quite understood new technology because it wasn’t a part of dryad culture! Humans today truly are only rude and ruthless!
“Furthermore, you need to stop acting like you’re all high and mighty!” Pine growled aggressively, as she had to protect her clan’s namesake some way.
What on earth was with this girl? She seemed so spacey and… strange. Gwen watched as the girl ambled away, watching her feet as though retracing her own steps. Almost as though she were lost too. Uhg. The freckled woman rubbed at her temples.
“You wouldn’t happen to know where we are, would you?”
Pine scanned her surroundings anxiously, half for defense and half for an idea of how deep in trouble she was. She felt herself getting into a large sense of panic, thinking: I’m never going to find my tree, am I?!
“Other than in the extremely prodigious woods of Gravity Falls, Oregon… Sadly, I’m lost.” The young (in appearance) girl sighed, still trying to find any large animals she could talk to nearby to lead her.
Gav gave the sucker a loud slurp and watched the deer-what did Pine call it? Maia right?-move through the field. “So if you live here, where do you sleep?”
Pine smiled, almost feeling amused at the question. “Anywhere around here, really.” She announced, continuing to keep a close watch on her deer friend. “Although, some may say it could be dangerous…” The girl paused for effect, “It’s not that bad.” She gulped.
Except for other, less kind, mythological beings that like to pass through here.
AU where Dipper, Mabel, and a few other of the characters in Gravity Falls are demigods(basically, half-bloods from Percy Jackson) and they are born from from Zeus. Although not directly related in terms of parents, the two were born on the same date at the same time from the same father, making them almost twins.
In this universe, Dipper Pines is extremely outspoken, rebellious, and loves to show off after learning that he possessed the ability of aerokinesis, inherited from Zeus. Meanwhile, Mabel Starr is hostile and loud as she tries to keep her atmokinesis secret, knowing that she will be hunted by most for possessing such a power. As Dipper is cocky, Mabel is witty and kindhearted.
Later on, the two meet while running from all of Hades’ (Bill Cipher) monsters and children. They despise each other, but end up having to work together.
My ideas for the other characters’ half-bloodedness are as follows:
Pacifica: Aphrodite, her children are more attractive and have large knowledge of fashion and love magic. Pacifica has the ability charmspeak, a type of hypnotism by love.
Gideon: Hypnos, his children are underestimated, but very powerful. Gideon has the ability hypnokinesis, the ability to manipulate sleep patterns and (in some cases) dreams.
Wendy: Hermes, his children are good in any skill, are nimble, and excel in athletics. Wendy is able to pick locks and thieve extremely easily compared to other humans or demigods.
Gavina laughed. “You don’t hafta eat it if you don’t wanna though.” She pushed her mask up a bit, freeing her mouth and popping the lollipop back in. “Call me Gavina” She said after a moment.
“Ah, no! It’s good, just strange- compared to what I’m used to, that is.” She felt a new feeling, a type of warmth that she had only felt ages ago. Pine then continued to almost gracefully eat the candy, contemplating if it were to be bitten or not.
Suddenly, she was caught by surprise by the Queen’s request. “Oh, Okay, y- Gavina.” Pine smiled wide.
“Hm? Oh, it’s a lollipop. It’s like hard candy and you suck on it.” She unwrapped another for Pine. “Here, this one tastes like cherry apparently.”
The girl took the candy and stuck it in her mouth. She then made a strange face, not filled with disgust or pleasure, but more of a curious face. It was a very cartoon-like pucker as if it was sour.
It does not taste like cherry…
“Thank you, Your Highness!” Pine exclaimed gratefully as she still continued to eat the lollipop which was coating her mouth and throat with sugar.
